Still Here…

We’ve been remiss in posting and wanted to give a shout out.  We continue to work with Breaking Games regarding Under Construction and hope to have some news on that

Happy Holidays

Hello Everyone! Since we have not posted in a while, we wanted to provide a mini-update. We showcased Rainbow Octopus at Boston’s Festival of Indie Games. We’ve continued to work on Under

Final Find It & Bind It Release of 2015

We’re happy to announce that we’ve released the Print-n-Play files for both Find It & Bind It expansions to our backers of the Kickstarter from earlier this year.

For those that didn’t have a chance to back us during the Kickstarter, we’ve also made Print-On-Demand versions available at the following TheGameCrafter.com links:

We may make an unboxed version of The Demon Expansion available as well for folks that just may want the printed cards.

Happy Holidays from Cray Cray Games

We are pleased to share that we have successfully completed all activities related to our Kickstarter.

We are also pleased to announce that we delivered donations of games to the Big Brother Big Sister and Toys For Tots organizations. You may recall that we had 13 Glenda, The Good Witch backers who donated a game each.

We have added to that donation so that we could give BOTH organizations 20 games each.  We attempted to get a picture with someone at the State Police barracks but they wouldn’t let us snap a photo so instead we have Bruno’s hand and 1 of the games.

The Geek Down’s thoughts of F&B after Boston FIG

Hello All,

Here’s some thoughts after Pat and some folks played Find It & Bind It at the Boston Festival of Indie Games.

Have a listen…

The Shipments are Coming! (Find It & Bind It)

We are happy to announce that we have started shipping Find It & Bind It to backers.

One backer had it in their hands last Friday–though that was because I was able to hand it over while she happened to be in the state.  🙂

Regardless…  Shipping in August instead of October.

Cray Cray Games to show Find It & Bind It at Boston FIG

Find It & Bind It has been accepted to participate in the Boston Festival of Indie Games’ Table Top Showcase on September 12, 2015.

We are also happy to announce that the fulfillment of our Kickstarter rewards should be on the verge, if not already, 100% complete by the showcase–at least one month AHEAD OF TIME.

We are very pleased to be wrapping up the production of our game and bringing it into the homes of over 100 backers.

If you’ve played the game and haven’t yet had a chance to give us feedback or give it a rating, please check out its page on Board Game Geek.

Cray Cray Games Helps Emerson Students with Game Design

Cray Cray Games’ Phil Cartagena spent April and part of May helping Jordan Pailthorpe of the Emerson Engagement Lab and fellow game designer, Sarah Osborn, teach Emerson students the basics of game design as applied to a serious topic.

As part of the First Year Writing Program, Jordan’s class, “Game Design for Social Change,” partnered with Emerson’s Violence Prevention and Response Director, Dr. Melanie Matson, to create games focusing on Bystander Intervention.

Find It & Bind It’s Kickstarter a Success!

We’re funded. And we did it with 272% of our goal.

We thanked our backers on Kickstarter and are thanking them again here. We’re also pleased that we’ll have more than a handful of games to donate to Toys For Tots and the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation.

From here, it’ll take 2-3 weeks to get the funds which puts us in mid-April.

In the meantime, we’re contacting vendors to see what we might be able to do now that we have “proven” cash-in-hand and if we can swing a deal better than what we already have planned, we’ll announce the project plan and go into the details with backers by Monday, 4/23/15.

One last thing, we were working toward earning that 2nd Dispel Magic Spell Card based on getting to 100 FB Likes and 700 Twitter Followers. Well, we got to 146 FB Likes and 695 followers so… we’re going to include it anyway.

Dispel Magic is awesome. 🙂

Find It & Bind It and Toys For Tots / BBBSA

Just wanted to briefly post about our decision to include the Glenda, The Good Witch reward tier on Find It & Bind It’s kickstarter.

Without getting into the nitty gritty, Phil has a background where at ~10 years old he became a ward of New York State and, while in foster care or group homes, was often the recipient of donated toys for “Boy Age 8+,”  “Boy/Girl Teen,” and so on.

As a result, we thought it would be a nice gesture to pay it forward and also provide a “toy” that could be something a bit more than a thing–a game that could provide a repeatable experience that would last a bit longer than the current action figure, etc.

We hope to be able to give as many games as possible for this and other reasons.

Thank you to everyone who has supported at the Glenda, The Good Witch reward tier and for all those who may have added an extra game with the intention of donating it as well.

And thank you again for all the support that has been shown.

Find It & Bind It @ PAX East

Yes. Phil will be there showing off the game on Friday AM and Saturday PM in the Unpub area, officially. Unofficially, he’ll be around for the entire weekend showing off the game.

He’ll also be participating in 2 panels with other Boston Game Makers Guild members on Friday afternoon:

  1. 3:30pm: Birthing your Game
  2. 6:00pm: Giving & Receiving Feedback

Check out the panels and the game!

PRESS RELEASE: Find It & Bind It Kickstarter Campaign to Donate Games

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Phil Cartagena and Josh Degregorio of Cray Cray Games launched a Kickstarter campaign for their newest game, Find It & Bind It, on February 17 and achieved it’s goal in 3 days. Cray Cray Games’ sights are now set on achieving as many stretch goals as possible to expand the game’s content and upgrade production quality.

Cray Cray Games is pleased to offer a new reward tier that enables backers to support this campaign by getting a game for themselves AND a copy that will be donated to either Toys for Tots or the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation.

Find It & Bind It is a card game for 2-6 people that runs roughly 30 mins. Each player controls 2 witches that are searching through a 3×3 field of Book Cards for the Book of Shadows.

Spell Cards are used to Scry (look at) and/or Obfuscate (look at and shuffle) the Book Cards or to interact with other players and thwart their progress. To win, you must find the Book of Shadows, get both of your witches to it and then use your action to bind it.

The art used in Find It & Bind It cards are richly-colored examples of classical art. Fans of Van Gogh, Gheyn, and Goya will get more than a bit of eye candy in addition to fast-paced deduction, even if you should back at a print-and-play tier.

The Kickstarter campaign features multiple reward levels offering add-ons that will give those who pledge multiple ways to show off their support of Find It & Bind It. Reward levels starting with “Supreme Caster” ($75) give you opportunities to have your name printed on Spell Cards as a supporter. Stretch goals include content for two different expansions, upgraded components, and more.
